Telehealth Second Opinion FAQs

Our Telehealth second opinion consultation gives your family and clinicians access to world-leading GOSH specialists.  You will save time and travel costs but benefit from the same high quality consultation from your own home.

A GOSH consultant will review your child’s medical records and provide a detailed report for you and your local consultant after the Telehealth consultation.

Not all services are possible via Telehealth due to the nature of the specialties. Please contact us regarding your personal requirements and we will be able to advise you on the specific options available.

Please email PrivateInfo@gosh.nhs.uk to request a second opinion via our Telehealth consultation service. Our referrals team will direct your enquiry to the specialist clinical team who will confirm the Telehealth options available. 

Yes, it is possible to have your doctor on the Telehealth consultation. Please contact PrivateAppts@gosh.nhs.uk or the consultant's secretary, to make the arrangements. Please allow for 2 working days in advance of the appointment so that we can assist you with this requirement. 

GOSH can provide an Interpreter for the Telehealth consultation if needed, but a minimum of 48 hours is required prior to the appointment date. Please contact PrivateInfo@gosh.nhs.uk to request this service.

Once your Telehealth consultation has been confirmed, please contact our Finance department on + 44 (0)20 7 405 9200 Ext 7988 / 1843, to process a card payment in advance of your appointment. If your Telehealth Consultation is being paid for by a third party, please contact your sponsor to request that financial authorisation is made in advance of the appointment.

Yes, My GOSH is owned and operated by GOSH so it is fully compliant with the UK laws governing privacy. Your name and email address are treated securely. At GOSH, health information will never be used to sell you something or passed to an external organisation. 

We ask that you complete the information form provided by our team, which will cover all details required for the consultation. If there is additional tests or investigations you would like to share, please let us know. 

Yes, a medical report will be prepared following the Telehealth consultation, and it will be sent to you within 7 working days

To prepare for your Telehealth consultation, it is advisable to test the process in advance of the scheduled appointment. Once you have signed in to MyGOSH, navigate to the Appointment and Visits Page, and click into your upcoming appointment to see the details. The process for log in will depend on what device you are using; PC or mobile device.

Patients and families may wish to make a recording of discussions with clinicians for their personal record.  If you would like to record the consultation, please request the permission of everyone whose voice or image may be recorded, in advance of the appointment.
