Overview
Charlotte is a Clinical Specialist Occupational Therapist in Paediatric Haematology, Oncology and Stem Cell Therapies at Great Ormond Street Hospital for Children NHS Foundation Trust in London. Charlotte has 7 years of experience working within Paediatric Cancer across two primary treatment centres. She is passionate in ensuring children have the best possible quality of life throughout Cancer Treatment and beyond. Charlotte also works as an Infant Sleep Consultant with an expertise in improving infant sleep through gentle approaches. She is also certified in the BAYLEY 4 developmental assessment and Sensory Beginnings. Charlotte is enthusiastic about improving patient centred care and rehabilitation for children undergoing Cancer and Stem Cell Therapy. Charlotte won ‘Allied Health Professional’ of the year in 2019 for going above and beyond for children receiving cancer treatment and their families. Charlotte established the national teaching programme for Occupational Therapists and Physiotherapists working within Paediatric Cancer and regularly provide teaching opportunities and presents externally at conferences including SIOP (Society of International Paediatric Cancer).
Charlotte is able to offer comprehensive functional assessments including activities of daily living (self-care), play and school-based occupations. Charlotte is an expert in managing cancer related side effects e.g. fatigue, body image, establishing daily routines around treatment, cognition, upper limb difficulties and developmental delays. She is also able to assess and provide equipment including seating and manual handling equipment.
