Great Ormond Street Hospital Children’s Charity (GOSH Charity) has launched its new campaign “Home for Christmas”.

The short, animated film highlights the amazing work GOSH staff do, all year round, to give every child the best chance to be home for Christmas.

The wider campaign explores how GOSH staff also create a special atmosphere for children who need to continue their treatment over the festive period, making the hospital feel like a home from home.

Real patients and staff turned into animations

The spellbinding animation features animated versions of real GOSH patients: sisters Mia and Amy.

Both were treated at the hospital for the same rare neurological condition, chronic demyelinating polyneuropathy (CIDP).

Mia was three weeks old when she was admitted to GOSH with the rare neurological condition, returning home just in time to meet her big sister on Christmas Eve.

The film also includes an animated version of GOSH Ward Sister, Melissa. Over the years, she has loved working at GOSH over Christmas.

“I worked every Christmas at GOSH from the time I trained until I had my daughter. I just loved it!” she said.

“Every time I worked on Christmas Day, it was about trying to make it the best situation possible for families.”
